Hi louth,
Im happy to kw that u started working already, u were very quick in landing after copr and here comes news that u r already into work, fantastic!!!!!!
Good luck with rest of things.
i don't wish to interrupt your celebrations at this hour of achievement for you, but would be really grat of you if you could throw some light on this. My passport is non-machine readable - means without the two line sof letters and digits with >>>>><<<<<< at the bottom of the photo page. Do you think this could pose problems if I were to land in a Canadian port? Secondly, would you think this could be why my security checks is taking so long?? My medicals reached London on 30 Jan and so far no PPR If you could answer [please, many tx

Hi Canada100, Just so u know my experience. I did my medicals last October and passport request was 10th of April. I renewed
my passport to machine readable one last Feb. From my time schedule, it does not seem the machine readable passport had any
speeding effect. Thanks

As already pointed out by other forum members, if you are in the position to obtain a machine readable passport before your PPR, I will advice you do so as soon as possible. Most countries have phased out the old style passport. Apart from your PR processing, it may pose difficulties with security clearance when you travelling across most countries, Canada inclusive. I doubt very much if the delay with your PPR has anything to do with your passport format. However, when you obtain a new machine readable passport, you will have to send LVO a copy of the information page. Who knows, it may wake somebody up to have a look at your file. That's assuming you wouldn't have got your PPR by then.
Yes plz try to make new passport, i too renewed my PP (though old one was valid till next 2 year) before getting my PCC to get machine readable pp.
But please check as PCC got PP number so not sure you needed PCC again or old pcc will be fine before going for new pp.
You can send through DHL as they provide this service.
But for returning of passports will be done through normal courier , for that you will need to send a return airway bill along with that .
