sooo, keep your fingers crossed for mine now, I REALLY hope they won't find anything amiss. (they didn't request any medicals or even a police clearance, though it's now been over 2 months since I applied).

Haha thanks! I am whacking my brains over what I could've done wrong but cannot find anything, so I REALLY HOPE they will let me through! I don't think CIC have any numbers they have to reject. As long as you meet all the requirement, you should be ok.

I think I do, I submitted all the necessary documents, and the job description is academic, and written for me specifically so to speak, because I am the only person in the world who does those things, so I hope all will be well

I have a small question. Would anyone be able to tell me if this is a potential problem. On the employer form, the job offer, there is space to explain where benefits for the employee come from, in the Other space (my come from my polish institution which i there explain). This form is emailed electronically tocic by the employer. But because there wasno signature of the boss through the email, we printed a copy, he signed it, and i submitted the non-electrinic copy with signature through dcanning it. My question is, since on the printed and then scanned copy the "other"on the form does not open (my description of benefits was quite long) but it does on the electronic copy submitted by the employer,will that be a problem?

It won't be a problem so just relax and wait for few more days.

FYI: I made some minor mistakes in my application too --like I put the wrong dates of my current status but I got my work permit approved. So don't worry yours will get approved too.

Thanks! Sorry to be such a drag, my partner says I have a bit of an obsessive personality, I guess he's right (i really so much want to get approved!!! when I do, we can start trying for baby ) You're right, I will just have to wait!

The processing time just jumped to 132 days why is it taking so long? I think I am going to die of stress

I know I've been asking this over and over again, but can anyone tell me whether there is any pattern as to which stage of the process they notify about rejection? in other words, does the fact that i received no news in almost 3 months now mean a good thing, or is there still a chance they can reject my application?

I do meet all the requirements. What are reasons they usually reject applications for? Sheesh, I do apologize for ranting about this, but I am getting really stressed

As we know processing time is 132 days so you have to wait for another one month. See attached thread of students who applied for Post Graduation Work permit and there are so many people who applied in first week of May and later but still waiting.

There are several factors that had increased the processing times.

1. Spouses who applied for PR through spousal sponsorship are applying for open work permit according to the new rules.
2. Many students have graduated in the end of April.
3. New rules to pay additional $100 fee (OWP only) which most of the students/open work permit applicants were not aware of.

So all you can do is wait. You can only know about approval/rejection when an officer reviews your file. In case of rejection, you will notified by letter in mail.

I was just wondering if, if they reject, the processing time is shorter because they let you know right away, whereas the acceptance takes longer because they put the application through all criteria... at any rate, I should probably stop whining

after all, I cannot think of any more potential problems with my application, and all that i could think of you refuted by saying they should not be a problem, so I guess I will have to live another month in fear

They can't decide in less time about rejection until they thoroughly review a file. So, both approval or rejection depends on officer after he/she reviews your file.

I could not reply to your PM because your message box is full.

**If you have applied for work permit extension with your same employer then you are required get your employer pay $230 compliance fee and fill out all required forms (Offer of Employment + Employer Questionnaire).

Is your current work permit expired already?

If its still valid I suggest you to withdraw your application and send a new application with all required forms.

Let me know if you need help in getting those forms filled out.

I am applying for a new employer.

Here's my situation:

My Alberta WP expired last June 12, 2015. Applied extension before that without LMIA just to buy time. Application returned on July 2, asking for $100 OWP holder fee. Resubmitted the application days later and also Application for restoration. I lost my implied status when it was returned. Now still waiting for restoration decision.

A week later, I also applied for SINP since I got an offer from a new Sask employer. After 1month and 3days, I got nominated.

Then I applied for a new WP supported by an SINP support letter. CIC advised me to write a letter requesting to withdraw the extension application. Problem is, I did not pay the compliance fee and the form. Is it a ground for refusal of my new WP Application?

I then sent my PR Application and was received at CIO on the 22nd of September. I think I also made mistake when put "implied status, applied restoration" on my PR application. I think I am now out of status since the return of my extension application.
