LMIA exempt needed again or not??

Hi guys.

My employer did my LMIA exempt last year. I got open permit work till passport was valid. My work Permit expires within months. I got my file number for the PR application.
I have to apply for work Permit extension so my employer has to do another LMIA exempt
And pay the $230 again. Or I can use the old one again ?

In my case (postdoc job at university), my employer paid "A compliance fee of $230" when we wanted to renew my work permit.

what do you mean by file number of PR application? As I understand, if you passed the R10 check on your PR application, you can also get a BOWP.
