Letters of explanation

Is there a restriction on the number of LoE I can upload? I have several points to clarify. So, should I make one long letter including all points or a letter for each point separately?

Also, can LoEs be just word docs or PDFs or should they be SCANS of signed hard copies. i.e. do I type out the letter, print them out on paper, sign and then scan and upload, as opposed to just uploading a .doc text file without a signature?

Put everything in one file.
You don't need to actually sign it. PDF will suffice.
