My online girlfriend will be visiting me in a month. She's applying for a visa and I provided a letter of invitation, and the application says she will be staying with me for one month. We actually hope she will be staying with me for 6 months, but we were advised by a tourist agency that there's more chance of the visa being accepted with a shorter time frame and that there's no specific dates on the visa and the actual visa itself states "how long do you intend to stay (intentions can change). So we felt comfortable with this, and we expect the visa shall be granted in a week or two. The next hurdle is what to say at the border where the actual visa is stamped with a date and the IO decides her length of permitted stay. On the Canadian Government website it states that "most travellers will be granted a 6 month visa" but she had previously come to Canada for a 3 month school related thing and was only granted those specific 3 months. Will they judge her if she says she wants to come to Canada to stay with her boyfriend for 6 months? Or should she just be vague and say she's coming to Canada to travel around and intends to stay for 6 months and not mention me at all?
tldr; What should a person say at the port of entry to the IO when asked length and purpose of stay in order to be granted a full 6 months visa?

You should be trustful and honest whenever a question is asked by immigration. Lying to Canada would never be an option.
