Your timeline is interesting. You got biometrics after you passed eligibility?
Yes, indeed. I was a little confused by the 2nd request first, but contacted IRCC and was told that biometrics for SOWP (temporary stay) cant be used for the PR application (permanent): "You will not be required to provide your biometric information again in support of any subsequent
temporary resident applications you make within the validity date indicated above. However, if you wish to extend the validity of your permit or visa beyond the validity date indicated above you can provide your biometric information again and pay the associated fee for another ten-year validity. Please note that you will be required to provide your biometric information in support of any
permanent resident application, even if you apply within the validity date indicated above."

But it looks like they did .The first stage of background verification is info sharing and they need your new biometrics for that . It seems all you need us to pass security screening part of your background verification and you are good . Good luck

My lawyer is confident that I will receive my eCOPR soon. He also mentioned that if he handles my Open Work Permit application, the service fee will be $500, excluding HST and government fees. And for the other questions he ignored all of them.

Yes, it looked like they did, but I also did not want to gamble and just submitted them again. And thanks, I hope the process is done soon.

You are paying a lawyer and he is ignoring your questions? That's just negligence. You can apply for your open work permit by yourself all you need is your AOR .If you want to apply for that you must do it as quickly as possible I think the processing time is around 150 days .

Yes.. I gonna apply it ASAP

Yes, you will be fine applying it by yourself. So many people I know/help do it themselves and all turn out fine.

Yes they are requesting medicals after security screening clears
hmm, i don't think so, security screening is very lengthy process
my medical is completed but security screening is not started

Did they use an old medical or they asked you for a MIL .security screening starts on ircc end when they get a recommendation from cbsa . It will always say not started even if ircc has sent your file over to csis.

When did PA eligibility pass? That's when you start counting 3-6 months from that time for a security screening to be done

security screening is 3-6 months after AIP?
I think ircc has changed their process. Looks like they will start sending MIL after background verification clears.
that would make sense if the processing time increased to 24 months... the medicals only good for a year i think.
