I have a question: why are people getting fingerprint requests at this stage? Does everyone get finger print request? I am outside Canada, not sure if I will get it and how to respond to it?.
it's random or selective only at this point. Not everyone will get it but some people do get the fingerprint request. It's much easier to submit fingerprints if in Canada. It is possible to submit from outside Canada too but a bit complicated.
It is already showing "in process" for me. I got my AOR on Sept 15th and it changed to "in process" on Oct 18th. I heard that it takes a month to two to change to "in process" on ECAS. I haven't yet received a fingerprints request. So, I was just curious about the typical time it takes to ask for fingerprints (if it does) after "in process". My office is the Mississauga one.

I applied in 2018, and i did the test and interview in 2019. In march 2020 they asked me for more information. I sent it to them, then the lockdown began. In july 2020, i sent a request to withdraw the old application and sent a new one. They sent me the AOR of the new application in November 2020. However they kept both applications in process despite the fact i asked many times to cancel the old one. In October 2021, they cancelled the old application and kept the new one in process. So any idea how soon will i take the test ? Does that mean, they did not work on the new application until october 2021 ?

No one knows for sure. And it is also impossible to get a proper answer from them. So, you just have to wait it out or maybe as an option submit the ATIP Request to see the notes and what's going on with your file. But it as well takes time to get the notes . So, waiting game it is anyway.
