Ours has yet to even be transferred to Mexico. Almost a month since meds passed... 0 action. No AOR2. Call to IRCC says it is 'marked' to go to Mexico City VO, though.
Agree with your statement, prepare for 12 month mark, hope for the best. I read some take up to 5 months since initial AOR to be transferred to Mexico VO.... why is it so dreadfully slow there?
Same situation here. So frustrating! I see some ARRANGED marriages who applied later who are getting sped through quicker.
We are expecting our first baby, yet likely husband won't make it here in time. Very good proof of genuine relationship, seemingly easy case. We were denied a simple visitor visa before we even found out we were expecting. I will be taking her back to Costa Rica with me when she is born.
A lot can depend on the officers and the respective Visa Offices. It is certainly not fair nor first come first serve as some speculate. Easy to resent this process when it does not always seem fair or appears geographically discriminatory. Seems easier for illegals walking across at Roxam Road who are awarded with hotel stays, the RCMP even take their bags for them!
