I wanna say its the average or i should say pattern of ones travel history if its not been 5 years yet And if you became Pr in may 2017 and only stayed in canada until you got pr card and established no ties in canada for example didnt buy house car or job etc since then this indicates no intention to settle in canada
I found this link and it might be helpful in understanding this fact better ..its someone whose sponsorship app was rejected due to more than one factor and one being not being present in canada long enough or residing in home country more than in canada since becoming PR
Having said all this ... visiting your spouse and staying there waiting for decision isnt a good idea .. my personal thought
But again so many things matter ..one being which stage your application is at ...
Hello I am from the July thread, I was just wondering, does anyone from June had to wait 3 months for sponsor approval ?
Our application was received on July 26th and we got an AOR on November 21st, but after that nothing. We have sent a web form and they state that all is good in our application but we are still worried because we need to go through Quebec too
Any comment would be appreciated, thanks

Hello ! Our app was received June 15th, AOR received August 2nd and SA, December 17th. We waited 4 months for SA but after things were a little bit faster. Medical Request December 12, CSQ request December 24 and we received it, February 7th.

Thanks for your reply, on February 26th, 2019 it will be 7 months since they received our application, considering we have to go through Quebec (1 month at a minimum to get the CSQ) and then get transferred to the local visa office, I think that sadly our application won't be a part of that famous 80% they process within 12 months.........
By the way, IRCC has admitted that in the last period they analyzed they could only process 73% of the applications within 12 months so their service standard is not being fulfilled
