Hello @ash2024 , my wife also has TRV which she received based on her PGWP, her PGWP will be expiring on August 21. Can she stay in canada as a visitor for 6 months based on that TRV? Or we need to apply for visitor record?

My PGWP expired last June 17 and I had to apply for restoration and visitor record. I also applied for OWP without an AOR after submitting the inland spousal application. I wonder if there’s someone who’s in the same boat.

Hello @ash2024 , we also have a similar case, my wife's PGWP will expire on August 21 and if we did not receive AOR before that , then we would also have to apply for SOWP without AOR and later once we receive AOR we will raise a webform to attach it to our WP application

We are also in the kind of same situation. Application submitted on July 20. Waiting for AOR and PA is on TRV. Can you please clarify below:
a) Did you submit Spousal open work permit application as an in-land applicant before receiving AOR? Can we do that?
b)Also, once we submit SOWP application, can PA stay in Canada after 6 months (TRV record expiry) since SOWP application is in progress or we need to apply for visitor record extension?

You can apply for OWP without AOR only if the PA's status is expiring within 2 weeks. Once submitted, the PA should have maintained status as a visitor and they will be allowed to stay.

No. The PA will be in “maintained” status until the application is approved.
