I wouldnt email the office directly. You can call or submit webform asking on status/test invite.

More than a` year now waiting.

Its not going to be easy to crack the first phase, at least for the unlucky ones. I waited for 16 months but it wont take that much time for later applicants hence you should receive it this month or next month.
Whats your office? Did you enquire on your application status to trigger any movement on your application? If not submit a webform asking to send test invite while they do their review.

Unlikely. If you received and update soon after you sent a webform, it'd most likely a coincidence.
