Try to distract yourself my friend. I was in this state and then I just had to put in on the back burner because I couldn't stay miserable like that.

Do you know when does your BG expire?

Distracting urself is the best way to go for sure but some days are harder than others.
My background check was expiring on Feb 23rd but i got a ghost update on February 25th. I believe they renewed it.
Anyways, good luck with getting a passport

I hope it doesnt mean that they can keep lingering on if your BG checks are good for another year. I hope things get easier for you. thank you and all the best.

A ghost update is a good sign. You will get interview or decision made soon

Which visa office? This is way too long. Have you tried to contact your visa office directly (not through the webform)?

Local visa office normally don't bother to response your query . I would suggest contact your local MP that might help .

Mississauga office. Emailed them directly, got a Standard reply. Contacted through MP back in January, completely useless.

I hv reached out to everyone I could. MP, Minister, Deputy Minister, CIC agent, but these guys have an excuse for everything. They'll blatantly apologize to u but do nothing about it.

Changed to "In Progress" on my citizenship ceremony on March 8th - scheduled for 2 weeks away. Woohoo!!! SO thrilled! Took ~6 months from test completion, Vancouver VO.

I am out side of Canada and due to circumstances I missed my test invite and its my second time that I couldn't reply them on time what they can do now will they cancel my citizenship application or they can send next test invite

Congratulations! Again. We were in the same oath ceremony on the march 2nd Vancouver. I haven't received any certificate yet. My application was closed yesterday. How about you? When did your application get closed and ceremony set to completed. Did you ask for urgent processing of certificate?

Application shows still in progress. Ceremony switched to completed on March 4th I believe.
Regular processing.
Family of 2. Received the certificates in separate packages and one day apart.

If they didn't send you email, then it's their fault. Call them or send a web form.
