At what point do they check if the application is incomplete or not? Just before the AOR or is it upon the application is received?

They do not. If everything is good u get AOR in 6 months if not your papers back

Yes... Previously it used to be 2 months but now almost 6 months..

You can't link your application to your IRCC account. You can only see updates on eCAS.

Yes you can. I did it twice for my PR, for wife's sponsorship. This is what it says:
Did you apply on paper or don't see your online application in your account? Add (link) your application to your account to access it and check your status online.

Did you apply on paper or don't see your online application in your account? Add (link) your application to your account to access it and check your status online.

To everyone who submitted their application in July, good luck. I have been watching this thread for the entire month, getting ideas and clarification for my own application. I could have submitted mine in July as well but I chose to wait until August because I wanted as much information from all these senior guys like Anton1990 and Melito. The support from everyone is so great and heartwarming. Good job guys!
