You can give it a try and tell CIC your father's problem and wait to see what CIC can do for you. I suggest to get a letter from your father's doctor to support your reasons.

If you have already sent your application and now need urgent processing:
Fill out the Web form explaining why you need urgent processing and include:

• your full name, date of birth, email address and telephone numbers
• your UCI or application number
• any documents that will support your explanation
  • files must in PDF, JPEG, TIFF, DOC, or DOCX format
  • files must be 2 MB or smaller
  • if you include multiple files, the total size must be 3.5 MB or smaller
  • help for how to reduce file siz

You can do an urgent processing , even after the application has been sent.

My suggestion would be: Even if you do submit a RUSH Processing request and IRCC does approve it, it will still take you few months to receive your passport/oath and ceremony. You will need to prepare your documents, then submit them, then it will take few weeks for them to look at your request and whether they will approve or not you won't know so definitely will take 2 months. Instead of doing that I would suggest you to go to your father tomorrow and stay there with him, it will take another 3-4 months for you to receive a Citizenship test invite and then another month for you to write it (which you can re-schedule)...

This is what I would've done. Because I don't believe that IRCC will easily approve your request.

Do we receive the invitation by mail or email ?? my ecas just got updated to this but I never recieved any communication via mail. Received an email on Jan 31st !!. Can someone please tell me if they had similar situation ???

We sent you a notice on January 2, 2020 to appear and write the citizenship test on February 21, 2020 at 12:15 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment.

I am an Edmonton Applicant and I received only an e-mail, have the e-mail printed and keep with yourself on the test date.
