my background check is still showing as pending but I did the test on Friday, it depends on the agent probably.

Hi guys,

Can anyone please provide me the documents required to apply for Canadian citizenship, I downloaded the check list but just wanted to get more info from you guys as well. I just passed 1095 days according to IRCC date calculation thing (work permit days + PR days) and as per my findings, we have to following documents,

1) Tax documents (NOA - last five years)?
2) General documents (passport, Canadian ID, etc)
3) English test - I heard we can provide transcripts of education qualifications, if we studied in English at a college or university, is this true?
4) Citizenship test - (Any tips, resources, etc, please and thank you)?
5) Overseas police reports, if I lived more than 183 days outside Canada during last 5 years, also do we need to provide a police report from Canada as well?
6) Do we have to provide documents (ex- work permit) to prove that I have lived over 1095 days in Canada or system generated document is enough?

Please and thank you!

Hi Ashan,

I would recommend to do the Online Application as it has internal check if any information is missing or overlapped.
It has although Physical Presence Calculator built in, so you don't need to do the calculations manually.

1) Tax documents: you need to file at least 3 out of 5. I don't remember uploading the NOA but you give them consent to check CRA
2) The online application is showing you what ID is accepted, but Generally, I uploaded, Passport, PR, DL
3)English Test: yes this is true, you can even use your previous IELTS, there is no expiry for it
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...adian-citizen/eligibility/language-proof.html
4) Citizenship test, You have to read Discover Canada at least once, then practice as much as possible for exams & questions.
5) Police report if you lived outside Canada for more than 183 yes, inside Canada you can't do it until you receive official email with Fingerprint Request. Inside Canada can't be done by anyway in Advance
6) I have no clue about Work permit as i have came as PR

Thank you very much for taking time to reply.

I came as an international student and I got my PGWP (3 years work permit) first, then PR.

Hope PGWP time period counts as well (0.5 day).

Thanks again; much appreciated.

When did you resubmit the application because this is considered the date you have applied.

Although, when were you able to register on the IRCC tracker

I need this info to update the sheet in the correct way
