For those who are curious and asked about my request for information to CSIS. I received the notes from them today and it doesn't contain much information, unlike the IRCC one. What's interesting to me is the timeline of events:
- February 20, 2023 - CSIS received citizenship request
- January 12, 2024 - Applied for CSIS notes
- January 18, 2024 - Issued Recommendation/Advice (I assume that's when the security check is completed)
- January 30, 2024 - Dated when notes issued to me

So I still believe the request for CSIS notes did something to my case.

I guess there's always the chance that a request wakes somebody up. Unfortunately in my wife's case they just muttered "national security", rolled over, and went back to sleep

What date in your CSIS says security screening completed , and what date BG completed on the tracker ,I am waiting for SS as well …

CSIS notes says January 18 as I've stated. BG done on January 19 according to tracker

I applied for gcms and now received for citizenship interview . I am out of country does anyone know whether it is in-person or virtual . It's only reflected in tracker haven't recvd mail.
What do they ask in these interview? Any help.pls?

Dear friends,

Finally, became a Canadian Citizen today

Attended the Oath Ceremony at Mississauga and received the paper copy of the certificate of citizenship in hand
I always wanted to do in person oath and got one
The ceremony was smooth & nice (Got a tiny bit emotional while taking the oath)

With this, my Citizenship journey came to an end.

It was a rollercoaster ride, especially due to the prolonged silence of IRCC . But all's well if it ends well.

I would like to thank people on this forum for guidance & support. Without this platform, it would have been difficult to stay strong during periods of uncertainty

How long does it takes to receive paper citizenship certificate these days ? i sent my son't cur PR card on jan 25th but after that no update or certificate been received . it; sbeen 2 weeks now.

My app was filed in Jan 2023. No update other than test completed in May 2023. The only reply they give is security screening is in process. By this rate- I don’t see it concluding even in 15 months and it’s becoming so frustrating with every day. Ordered ATIP, engaged MP, got CSIS notes- all are rhetoric- nothing other than it’s within 15 months mark and SS is in process. What more can one do to wake them up?

Hi folks! Had a nice and successful virtual oath ceremony today. I am now officially a Canadian Citizen, just about 6 months away from completing a decade here in Canada. Grateful to forum members for all the support and encouragement. The entire application took roughly 12.5 months from applying for citizenship all the way to oath ceremony. However, I’m still awaiting my citizenship certificate of course.

The oath ceremony itself was chill and conducted in an organized manner. I did get a tad emotional but all good. There were 109 new citizens being inducted and the whole thing took only about an hour and half for me, login to logoff.

I shall stick around this forum periodically.
