Its now 5 months for me after the test. No news. Seems all cic officers are moved out of Canada.
Bud! I recently found out that a nov 2020 windsor applicant was invited for an interview. Not sure on what basis thy r calling for an interview for the ones who took test later than us!!!

I saw some 2021 candidates are moving ahead even for windsor. So surely they are working but not working on 2020 files

Is Mississauga office still sleeping?? No update since july.

Same here for me too. Not just missi but all offices are sleeping on 2019 and 2020 files and busy working on 2021 files.
Once 2022 comes, they will be leaving 2019, 2020 and 2021 files and start working on 2022 files. Thinking that they would possibly allow 2022 candidates to download e-citizenship certificates to avoid any delays in KPI performance reporting(and will do the rest of verifications such as background, test, interview and oath).

Citizenship application status marked as closed - updated on 3rd December. Certificate awaited as next step.
Quick question did anyone got a call from IRCC about their citizenship application? I gotta call from IRCC this morning (had a ghost update Dec 1st) asking me that they can see I took the test from overseas - where was I where I took it and a few other questions. Any idea what might be next? So far for me only background and test showing as completed rest everything in-progress. thank you
Hi everyone, I have a citizenship ceremony scheduled soon (9 months after my test), but still very happy
Was wondering if anyone knows how long the ceremony takes? it says it takes 2.5 hours in the letter, but I do have a work meeting 1.5 hours after, I was wondering if I should cancel my meeting at work.
Also, does anyone know what the process is like?
Many thanks.

From what applicants report, it's between 50 min - 2.5 hours. I guess depending on how many participants are there. If you know when your oath will be in the morning or afternoon, it's better to take half a day off on whichever half it is

Thanks a lot, that makes sense.
I will cancel my meetings, so I have enough time for the ceremony. Thanks again

Does anyone know how long it's going to take to receive an invitation to the citizenship ceremony? I completed and passed my citizenship test on July 13th, 2020 and they updated my information on Nov 16th everything has been green and assumed cleared. IRCC hasn't asked me for fingerprints or any supporting documents so I assume everything is cleared. I live in Ottawa and it's unbelievable to see how slow they are in not only updating information, I am coming up on two years now waiting for this certificate. So, if anyone knows anything I don't or even know how long of an estimate until I receive an invitation to the ceremony that would be greatly appreciated.

No idea man. I am also from Ottawa. My file got updated today with everything being marked as complete today. And over on ECAS its showing up as Decision Made. So I am not sure when they will schedule us for Oath. However looking at previous applicants from Ottawa they usually should schedule Oath within a month of decision made. So lets see when we get our Oath date. We are almost there

Hi. Dont worry, you are just stuck in the que of Ceremony awaited people. Hopefully all is okay with your process but they are busy with Afghans and due to Covid and resources issues, it can take bit longer but good thing is your all other tabs are set to completed and only Ceremony is due. My friend has got citizenship already in Vancouver and he was also not required fingerprints.

Congratulations. How many participants were in the ceremony?
Please update:
Test Invite - NA
Test Interview Date - NA
Oath Letter Date - 6Dec2021
Oath Ceremony - 21Dec2021
Pretty exciting for me!
Quick question - am I able to invite family/friends to the video ceremony? Or better yet, do I want to invite family and friends to the ceremony?
