Check your LMO/Contract. What are expected of you are stipulated in your contract.

If there are no people to care for, isn't this "house sitting"?
 
Yes it is actually. In the standard contract ont he gov't website there is a box totick off - do you have a pet that requires care - uually marked Cat or Dog.
