We are an Egyptian couple living in the USA as I am on an assignment there with my company. I am a PR in Canada as well as my wife. We obtained our PR status in May 2010 and stayed in Canada for two weeks before we returned back to the USA.
Last week (March 2012) I had a baby girl that was born in the USA as scientifically called "Down syndrome". Our plan was to move to Canada mid 2013 after I finish my assignment and then sponsor my baby but now I DON'T KNOW IF MY SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED OR NOT :'(
Would you please give me your thoughts if my sponsorship application for her will be accepted or not?
Is it just me or is this disgustingly offensive to hear the parent of this precious child call them a Mongolian idiot?
"many years ago the term for Down syndrome was Mongolian Idiot (my fingers cringe as I type these words). It was used by most everyone, including the medical profession. Today it is totally unacceptable." -Dr. Murray Feingold
I have a friend with the most beautiful baby girl, who just happened to be born with down syndrome...hearing this is really bothering me.
Simply saying down syndrome would have sufficed don't you think... Sadly this child has to grow up with an"idiot" parent.
Your baby is just born last week? so if im right she is just diagnosed of having DS. There is no genetic testing for trisomy 21 has been made yet right. So im sure you can still sponsor your baby. Just do it right away.
I know how it feels to have a baby with down syndrome. Its really shocking in the first time especially to me as a mother who have previous normal kids. But as days pass by I could tell you how much happiness my baby boy gives us. His growing normal as other babies. Every DS baby have something special on them. just show more love, patience and be more strong especially on those times you will meet narrow minded people.
Oh my baby is canadian citizen now. he was born abroad.
