Tips for GT reading:
Some questions want us to find out the headings of each paragraph. it might be confusing and difficult for many of us. There is a trick to find out the headings quickly. Always give attention to first 2 lines of each paragraph cause our answer is hidden in those first 2 lines of each paragraph. Hope it will help.
Tips for GT writing:
Try to give some real life examples while answering question 2.

Hi mperei02,
Paper work looks to have come to an end only to find out some new issues and re works

. I will have to change the place of birth in my passport for which i can only apply for a re issue of the passport. So it will definitely take about 10 days i guess. i'm applying for it in tatkal tomorrow, not sure of the time lines for the same. Hopefully we will have all other documents by then, and send the same the next day we receive the passport
Also we need the maximum points in IELTS. Fingers crossed until i see the sms on my phone tomorrow. Hope we get the results by sms tomorrow

.
God's grace - we should meet the 1000 cap for 2151 by then

.
What's your stand now?
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi mperei02,
I guess it's this Friday :-X FINGERS CROSSED
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.
I took mine on 21st in US. Got the Scores today. Overall 8. I got 9 in Listening and 7.5 in rest of the sections. I thought I would get 8.5 or 9 in reading as well.
I used Barron's and did all the test for Reading and Listening. For speaking and writing I did not have any preparation.
Congrats needachange tomorrow this time we will know :'(

how can i perform better in these last session?
anybody can help me
thank you.
Hi Indira and rest of the gang...
Got Listening - 8
Reading - 8
Writing - 7.5
Speaking - 7.5
I am very happy but suprised I got less in writing and speaking....Anyways I am making points here
yaaaahooooooooo...Indira let me know how much you got...
Hi mperei02,
sorry for copy pasting
Things are not as easy as they look like Sad at least for us. My passport will take some more time and every time i go to the passport officer, they raise a different issue Sad, i sorted out 3 of them with special permissions from the Regional passport officer, but i have to get a new birth certificate in order to launch my passport reissue now Cry. That's going to take another 10 days altogether i think.
Next, the IELTS... Prab has got a overall score of 6.5, listening - 7, RRS - 6 each. Now that we got 8 points in language, we just arrive to the 67 points. We are bit unsure if we will make it, with this points. What if CIO doesn't validate my diploma? we will lose the 3 points and our application will be back Sad. Also looks like i need at least 15 days to sort out the passport and birth certificates issues, without which we will not be able to apply. All other documents are in place. I just returned to Chennai this morning after 2 days fight with the passport office people. So, i guess it's alright to ask Prab to sit for one more exam and try to gain more points, hopefully. Yes, we just need 0.5 band in each of the 4 sections and we will have a full 16 points and need not worry if my diploma is validated or not.
What do you think guys? It will take one more month to get the next IELTS results, but i think it will be worth it. I know we risk losing the queue Undecided, but i see a lot of people regretting for doing minor mistakes and miscalculations and their applications being returned.
Our current points:
Education : 25 (10 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 2 years)
Age : 10
Work : 21 (5 years solid experience in 2151 - same NOC)
Adaptability : 3 (1 yr diploma with 10 + 2 + 1 years education)
Language : 8
What's your say?
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.
Hi Indira,
Sorry to hear...Ask your hubby to redo te test...I was ready to do it again if required. Ask him him to do 2 test a day. Listenings writing and other day speaking and writing...
Best way to get around is reading questions first before the speaking begains...watch BBC it helps.
Is there anything I could help let me know...I send my application yesterday..hopefully it is right. I am ready if it comes back...I will resend...Sure they will do for many. I read somones returned because the CC 3digit pins not written...guess what I havent written either.
I used same CC to get degree recgonised in BC and It is charged...they didnt need the 3 digit pin.
If Gods planned Canada for you...you will be there. Time flys. last month I wasnt sure to do IELTS now it seems I made right decsion.
Take care...Bless you
Manny
Hi Manny,
Thanks, great knowing you guys here. Please could you tell me where can i get more practice materials for tests other than the book that British council provides?
We are now trying our luck with another test centre in Chennai, the IDP - EDU. Let's see, what's the difference between the both
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.
