Had my IELTS today went well...the sound I felt was echoing because of the hall size...missed one or two sentences in listening...Overall I think it went good...reading and writing was good and easy....

Hey mperei02,

Already done with the test today? Where was it? Good luck for great scores :) My huby's test starts in about an hour ??? ::)

Fingers Crossed :-X :-X :-\ :-\ :'( :'( :) :) :D :D well, not sure what emotion would be the apt one :(

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi Indira..........all will be fine..take a deep breath....Manny

Thanks, i hope for the best :) For you too :)

Indira Prabhakaran.

The exam was very easy...but that was scary... :-\

Was it? Which one was the most difficult part? And how many days did you practice?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I did 5 test over a period of 2 weeks...diffrent section...no section as hard as such but definately the sound was echoing in the hall...

i took up the exam awhile ago? i think i did bad in writing i had no time to check my paragraph for both task 1 and tas 2 that's why im nervous... it's just i dont have much time to do it...... i answered and aswered and aswered.... my answer sheet was fulled with words but what Im worried is i had no chance to check it that's why Im scared. hope it will end well and that miracle could happen.im praying that i may atleast get a 6.5 for both writing and speaking.. Anyway i took the exam here in the Philippines..........................its 50% hard 50% easy for me...

I took the exam as well. found it to be easy. reading I estimate to get a score of 9 or at minimum 8.5. What I am worried about is the listening section. When it reached to the map section(camping site), I missed the first one and then was followed by missing the second and third one as I got confused. It's so stupid not to give u a chance to re-listen to at least an optional section. Every human being might ask "what did u say" or "could you repeat" even in native language.

Might sound stupid but any chance any of you guys remembering that map section answers. for instance where was the location of shop and internet cafe in the square?

Hey Farshin,

My husband said the same thing too :(, he missed out the first few lines of listening and so he was not able to attempt few answers:( At least he got hold of it and was able to go through the whole one :) Also he dint have time for a proof read for the writing section and any other part for that matter.. He said he did well in reading and OK in speaking.

BTW i still have my fingers crossed until SEP 3rd :-X :-[ :-\ :'( :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Don't worry about it. Remember only the listening is a concern and as long as you prevent any confusion while missing a question, you will do fine. If you missed a question, leave it as quick as possible and approach to the next question.

Concerning writing section, try to limit your words to the limit recommended(250 words). Manage it in a way not to exceed few words more than 250 for the task 2 otherwise the proof reading chance is gone.

Dear Friends:

There is no need to panic about IELTS. I gave you mine example, I have to submit my documents in one month and for that I appeared on August 5th, 2010 without any preparation or practice. I just take some help from some soft material and some books. I did only two listening and reading exercises. Just saw formats of how to write a letter and essay and that's it. On the day of exam, before the exam starts the invigilator suggested us to be careful with reading and pick two questions at time and search the answer and I used it.

Be attentive in listening
use the technique mentioned above for reading (very vital part)
In writing try to attempt essay first 250 words and then letter 150 words
for speaking be calm and try to speak at normal pace and respect difference of opinion
