It will give him the idea about your over all work experience rather than going through with all of the reference letters and JD.

Yes, at the end if visa officer is not satisfied......visa officer gives reasons for refusal and if visa officer is satisfied he further advice about medical etc. ........yes its really scary and only 30 minutes can change you life......
Are those visa officers the same people who work on our files in LVO? I mean do they move to Abu Dhabi to make the interviews?

No , this interview is conducted by Abu Dhabi Based visa officers.
They follow SPOs for interview , that are standard all around
