My BG check is in progress at the moment. Do we have to wait for CIC to ask us to submit anything regarding RCMP? if yes, are they gonna ask everyone to submit their RCMP check at some point?
Like many here I am also stuck in BG being "In progress" for the last month or so, just wondering if I need to do anything at this stage except waiting!!
And if they don't ask some applicants for their criminal check, how do they do the BG check without fingerprints..?
Timeline and signature. it is a very slow process. this is my second application as first was rejected as Ielts exam was expired.I hope we get PPR soon.

No RCMP is a random check. Don't worry they dont ask it for every one. Even in my case they asked me to submit a RCMP but not my wife.
So its totally random. I also read people saying they will ask for it if your name has a match in the RCMP.
This is not true. I asked one of my friend in RCMP he said ,CIC has no access to your person files from RCMP.
Its just a random procedural paper work which CIC needs to do.
All we can do now is wait ! DM should be around 140 days from AOR!

Wow so you could have had a final decision on July 31st DM PR in had .
Such a ridiculous process when you think about it . Eligible for CEC and FSW, they decide on FSW .2 years professional work experience in Canada and they keep us hanging like this . Now we're all looking forward to DM that needs more waiting and hanging on . Then sending PP etc .Whole Process should take about 3 months .
