Once u received AIP u can apply for work permit and ohip
that’s great
I spoke with an agent today, and they're working on the BGC. They're doing criminality and after that they will do security check. The BGC has started since Dec 28, 2018.
Oh that's good news! When did your background check status change from "Not Applicable"?

It changed on December 28, 2018. The same day a letter was received in GCKey for RCMP check and PCC from home country.
Sponsor Approval
Principal applicant received and email:
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence (APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly.

Congrats
@jujubala !!!

Thanks! It seems your timeline might be a bit different to the rest of us. Many of August apps background checks still say "not applicable" or the status just changed to app in progress and we'll be notified when our bgc begins.

Sorry, I'm not August, I'm September. I've been following this post to estimate the progress of September applicants.
sponsor side decision made
just called automated system on IRCC customer service number and entered my file number. Sponsor side decision is made. But in my application they said we have started reviewing your eligibility, we need additional documentations we will send you letter or email. I hope then don’t ask something out of the box since I am out of status
any idea what they would possibly ask for?

i think they must be saying if we need additional documents , we will sen you email or letter. THats what they say on gckey. It doesn't mean they necessarily ask , its "IF".Even if they ask ,its usually RCMP fingerprints or PCC in case you haven't submitted. Don't worry, you will be fine.

EDit- They don't ask everyone for fingerprints though.

as much as I would like it if that’s the case. However, I listened 2-3 times and there was no “IF” at all. But lets see maybe you are right

and I did not submit PCC as I left India when I was 18 and in the form they said if you never left Canada then you don’t have to get RCMP and we will do it for you. So that’s why I am confused. They returned my file before asking for letter of explanation that why I did not give PCC from India to which I just said that I have never lived more than 6 months there after turning 18

ok, even we didn't submitted PCC upfront(due to out of status thing and did attached explanation letter) and then they did requested fingerprints and PCC after medical. If they need , they will send you letter.

Question though, if I call the cic they will give me exact status of my application? Coz on my Ecas still the same nothing change.
