Hello Inlanders 2010,

I just call cic agent lady, she told me my application shows still in process but she told me "Hopefully very soon I will get something as I wait more than 18months total"

Though she can't give me any fix date (May be to secure their side in case they fail)
I applied on 16th June 2010 & got my AIP OWP on 6th April 2011.

I called today, and the file was reviewed on Jan. 9, and they are still waiting on background checks. I asked the agent about traveling and she said as long as you have a valid work permit and AIP letters with you you can re enter. The owp gives u the status. I now have to wait another 3 months for DM. Frustrating.

Be careful. I am pretty sure you also need an entry visa if you are not from a visa exempt country.

Hi Theresa_Lynn sorry to hear about 3 months more waiting but if you are planning to travel make sure everything because you can't trust this immigration or even air port authority as they are suffering from economical downturn.

You have to wait more three months why? because you resend them your medical that's why? and now they just add it in your profile.

sorry to hear about the 3 months more waiting and thank you for sharing the news about re-entry which is the same as what I heard from call center, at least I knew that there is not only one agent said that.

I'm wondering maybe I should apply my OWP asap. I didn't do that when I got my AIP cuz I thought I would pass the second stage around now but I guess I'm wrong. :-\

does it not say on the website for inland you have to stay inside Canada for duration of the inland process if your from a non visa exempt country? Does owp give you multiple re-entry as well?

Ocean_end.....................I am from June 2010 but only me & Theresa_Lynn left here all other May..June..July 2010 got their PR. I don't know why this back ground check took too much time & why they need back ground check when we already gave them police clearance from canada & native country?!
