they punch holes, with cancelled stamp and give it back to you.

you should see the application usually in 3-4 days , if you don't see an update in 7 days - contact them

I recently applied for surrender of Indian Passport without Canadian Passport. On checking with BLS they mentioned that if there is no Canadian Passport, you have to write a letter saying that you are in the process of the applying for a Canadian Passport and cannot produce it at this time. You would still like to proceed with the application. Just sign this letter and include it in your application. The Canadian Passport is optional for the surrender certificate but mandatory for the OCI application.

They are asking Canadian passport now. Its mandatory as per Brampton BLS.

One I got when I filled out the application form in https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html before going to BLS.

My form had a minor error and BLS rectified it (charged $30) and gave me another application number. Which one is correct?
How should I track the number I got from BLS in the https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html website?

My Indian passport surrender application is also being processed at Vancouver consulate.

Currently the status on Passport Seva is 'Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.'

Do you know how many days does it take for consulate to send the certificate to BLS?

As application was re-submitted by BLS you will be only able to track by above link.

The "Track Status" on passportindia does not work, else you could have used that.
