Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

Did you get 'Passport application has been granted' status before or after police verification? It merely means that they have confirmed submission of your application, and all documents submitted are ok. You should next get a passport print initiated message.

I just got positive updates :
The day before yesterday: My father checked with the police station for a verification clearance report again, although the status was showing passport application has been granted, the police clearance report was pending, so it was done on that day.
Yesterday: My passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly. on embassy passport site
Today: Dispatched via Courier Purolator. on BLS site

I have general advice: if you are not sure about the police clearance report has been sent or not, just mail your concern to the Consulate and ask them politely.
Although I was so impatient about the whole process from 20th July till now, the process got slow when it reached the police verification stage, so make sure that's done fast. for me it took around 24 days, when finally I mailed them to check why my status is not changing, they told me the clearance report is pending.

I applied for my daughter's PP renewal at BLS Toronto on 18th Aug'2021. Anyone with similar timelines.

On https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/, the tracking status is shown as: 'Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.'

Is the police verification complete yet? Does your daughter have an Aadhaar card? I believe It's easier for police to verify the address if it's same as that of Aadhaar card.

Yes, she has an Aadhar card, how do we now if the police verification is completed ? she is minor.

Yes it needs to be send along with the application. Mention the police station corresponding to your Indian address only.

I read few posts about it and once the police verification is initiated, you will get an email for "Initiation of Police Verification Request for Passport Application File issued to India". In addition, you may send some relative to the police station to check if they have received any passport verification request.

Did anyone get Police verification initiated/done?

I submitted my application in person on 13th Aug. and the status still reads under review.. I didn’t get any email about police verification..

BLS site reads that it can take up to 8 weeks to process your application.

No police verification in my case..

Where did you apply? Passports are printed in Toronto and Vancouver only. If you applied in Ottawa, passports are printed in India which then takes 1-2 weeks to forward it to High commission
It could be possible that you have post police verification, or even without any police verification
