Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

Hi Everyone,

I walked in to Toronto for passport renewal(normal 36 pages) on 13th December and received police verification email on 28th. However my family member has not yet received the call from local police station and the status in passport portal shows as under review at embassy. Shall I wait for the local police to call or can I approach the police to provide the clearance? Is it possible

Hi, your family member can go and visit the local police ststion. because they need 2 witnesses sign and pictures to verify.

Can we direct walk-in without appointment into Brampton office for passport renewal? Is it mandatory applicant to be present or shall I submit application of my wife passport renewal?

   Hi guys, when I checked the tracking using dev tools in the browser, the "APPL_SURNAME" is null.
   
   I am wondering if someone has the same issue.

1. For self-attestation - I signed the documents with date.
2. For cover letter - typed and printed.
Not sure if it worked or not as I posted the application and haven't heard back yet.

Seems like it worked, as status says that Print has been initiated

Hi,

My wife's passport is stuck at "passport has been printed" status for a week now. Did anyone has received renewed passport in this year yet? Is there any delay going on from CGI or BLS side?

My application got updated today, and went to "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate"
APPL_SURNAME is now correct so being null is just a bug until the application is actually under process.

BLS is slow, my application was taken from home on 22-Dec and Embassy starting processcing the week of 10th-Jan.

Can we submit application direct walk-in without appendment as no appendment available?

Walk-in are tough. You will have to stay in-line from early morning in queue. I applied for my passport renewal at BLS Toronto via walk-in. I was in-line since 4 am in the morning and got at the counter at 3 pm. But they do offer adjustment depending on the traffic.

It now shows "In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre"

hi All. I want to renew my 9 year old Son's passport from BLS. I have few questions regarding that.

1. I'll have to log in to the Passport Seva (Canada) site using my account and then create a new passport request for him. Please confirm.
2. I was told that Tatkal can be applied for kids with a processing time of 2 weeks. Is this correct?
3. How many pages do i select if i select Tatkal option for Kids (36 or 60 pages).
