Oh wow! thats an awful lot of time. Mine has been in the same state now for almost 10 days. I have seen it taking a maximum of 13-14 days but 20 days is a very long time
 
does anyone know how to get the file number for tracking on the passport website? I only have bls tracking number starting with 24-XXXXX and the status shows Processing at Consulate General on BLS website. application submitted for minor normal on 6th July walk in Toronto.
 
Hi guys.. I need to apply for a new Indian passport through TATKAL.. if I apply this week, will I get it before Aug 10? CGI Toronto processing time is 1 week but BLS says 15-20 business days from the time I send my application.

Also - I don’t know wtf the BLS agents are smoking but the idiots are telling me “no changes in passport must be there if you want TATKAL, including photo” - HOW TF DO I GET THE SAME PHOTO FROM 10 YEARS AGO?

They’re like “sorry sir- that’s the rule”.

Can someone advise what to do?

hey.. can you pls tell me how long it took to get your passport under tatkal through BLS Toronto? Also - did they ask for same photo as your old passport?

just received this response from CGI toronto

You may visit the Consulate in Open House on any Wednesday between 3 to 4.30 p.m.for your case with all related documents & application in original.

im wondering what about the fees that is usually required as a demand draft in the name of BLS international? What should I take for that? I don’t have time to call them now as im going tomorrow morning

I dont think they entertain applications directly. If its expiring next year, why cant you renew it in India? You can get the passport the very next day on tatkal

I have my greencard interview in Montreal on Aug 14, and US would require 6 month passport validity when I enter US on an immigrant visa first time sometime in September, so don’t wanna take a chance.
 
I checked this forum from last few days and analyzed that now a days passport renewed took approximately 1.5 month. Are all of you permanent resident in canada or study visa or work permit. I appreciate your help
