It is nice to know that some MP's help however my MP said he could not help with our application but could call and get information after the application was beyond the wait time allocated. We applied July 11,2014 and was interviewed Jan4,2016. Denied March 22,2016. Appealed April 22,2016 ADR Dec 20,2016. CIC call center agent said we should get visa in August 2017. More then 3 years in the system . So those that get help are fortunate
We had an immigration Consultant and her track record was awsome my husband brother and people used her and she used to work first ircc and cic she been doing immigration for 30 years

Oh My Goodness!!!! That is so horrible! Why do they play with people's lives like that! There has to be a better way for them to prove people are genuine. Why else would we even apply? because its loads of fun paying over $1,000 and being apart and waiting is so joyful? No way!!!! All we can do is pray. You are due for your visa, I'll pray for you! Good bless all those lonely soles waiting to be reunited with their loving partners. I haven't cried so much in my life. All I can do is be busy in work but i'm a teacher, i'm off right now.......twiddling my thumbs and waiting........Hope you hear something soon!

I hear you! Everyone of us here have lives and our fate is basically in the hands of people who only look at us as numbers in their caseloads. I feel of those of you/us who are stuck in the system for so long.

Such a generalized category. It must have been so agonizing. I can't even imagine if they tried to tell me my relationship was not genuine. I understand people do actually do it for other reasons. I almost go crazy now having to wait 3 months to see my hubby and we talk every single day lol And we are just 7 months into the process. I really hope you get to celebrate here!
Were you and your partner together long before you submitted? I am also older than my partner and by more than 13 years. We lived together for a year and have had a long distance relationship for 4 years now. He tried to come here on his own through economic streams but it didn't happen. At that time for his country it was average 18 months to process spousal PR applications. We got discouraged by that. So we just kept seeing each other every 4 - 8 months until we decided that we couldn't keep doing this as it got too hard. Fortunately (Idk if it will be true for us) they then made the 12 months or less processing time rule for 80 % of the cases when we finally got our app ready. So for 4 years we talked to each other pretty much every day. If you can last that long, you have to know it was meant to be! Unfortunately, IO's will never know the full story of most couples as we are restricted to 10 pages of proof of relationship. I am sure you and your spouse came out stronger after all of this, even if it was torture for those years. No matter what happens, somehow, I know I will be with my partner at some point, even if it won't be in Canada (we have imagined the worse case scenario already).
We met in 2010 Married in 2013,lived together in Cuba for several months I travel there every 6-8 weeks for a couple of weeks to a month at a time and we live in a house together. Do the same things as most couples do shop for food, cook do laundry etc. We love music , food sightseeing and entertainment. We had 625 pages in our application. So lots of proof. Luck of the draw in my opinion We will celebrate 4 years of marriage Sept 26,2017 hopefully in Canada.
