IMM 5406 additional family information

I am filing the form IMM 5406 (additional family information). It says that my son, who is depended on me and older than 18, has to also fill out the form. How do I fill one for him if he is not the applicant? So, what should I use in Section A of the form? This is the copy for my son and not mine (the applicant) since I knew how to fill out my form.

your son only needs to fill it out IF he is listed on your PR applicaiton as an accompanying or non-accompanying dependant. When forms say "family members or dependants" need to fill out forms, that is ONLY referring to family members included in the application also applying for pr. this does not mean parents, siblings, children or sponsors who are NOT applying for PR at the same time as you. if he is not a part of your PR application, then he doesn't fill it out, ONLY the applicant does. He will be listed on your form, which will be used by CIC to determine future sponsorship eligibility.

Hi. Thank you for the reply. My son was listed on the PR application as he is going to accompanying me. So, I think we have to fill out one form for him. However, how do we fill it out in this case? Do I list him as an applicant? So, on section A of the form, what should he write down?

if your son is included in your application, then YES, he must submit the form. without having the form in front of me, i can't speak to what section is what. Since he is an applicant, he must fill in the information for "applicant", he must also list his spouse (if any), children (if any), his parents, and his siblings.

Please keep in mind I am, his mom, the applicant. He is just a single dependent. What should I fill out in section A of the form?

how about you just write the wording on section a that is confusing you. specifically, what does section A say, and how is it worded. My gut is telling me that you and your son need to fill out SEPARATE forms, and you each need to put your name where it says applicant. technically, he is also an applicant even though he is a dependant. i am really not understanding what is confusing you about that.

I just realized we filled out my wife's form wrong, and didn't do one for her son. I guess we'd better be watching out for a document request and make haste when it comes. The last email notifying us that her file was being sent to Warsaw said NOT to send additional documents until requested, I'd really rather just send them now, maybe they won't notice.

The last email notifying us that her file was being sent to Warsaw said NOT to send additional documents until requested, I'd really rather just send them now, maybe they won't notice.

if there are missing documents, the visa office will request them. i would follow the directions provided by CIC. if they say not to send documents, they will certainly "notice" when they are delivered.
