Don't panic too much. London is usually pretty quick for UK citizens. You could order notes to see where they are in the process (I believe they take a month to get).
I'm wondering, how set in stone are these "no extension" rules? Do the officers still have discretion over these things in extenuating circumstances? I realise the rules are on the website, but that might not be the actual rules.
Only reason I ask is, back in the day, my husband's work permit was limited to 6 months, no extensions (at the time) and he still tried for an extension and it was granted.
The IEC rules are very much set in stone. OP, just to make sure you know, the London spreadsheet is at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kYJ0Xo_jHLeArkCVeicZyqIE8YLpnZqVJlFrnpmKMx0/edit#gid=396125530 - UK citizens through London current average is about 8 months, so that would imply an answer around June.
After reading this thread I just want to clarify the visitor status after an IEC runs out... I'm in the same situation but.it was my understanding that you can apply to extend your stay as a visitor at any point as long as it's before the iec expires, then the visitor visa is active once the iec expires? Applying for a visitor visa, say, 2 months before expiry doesn't void iec early right?

I'm in a very similar situation from Australia. My IEC visa expires in March, however I have an inbound application. I didn't realize I had to do something specific to gain Temporary Resident Status. What would I need to do here?

I looked at the visitor visa application and the requests proof of funds... I'll have about 2k in my Canadian account by then and my partners parents are helping to support us until the OWP comes through... will this be enough? I'm worried they'll deny my visitor visa now and I'll have to leave before we even get the PR application submitted :/

Thanks for the quick response. Much appreciated! Best of luck to everyone on this post. I know it can be a very complicated and stressful situation to deal with.

As you included an OWP app with your inland PR app, you don't need to do anything.
