Since you mentioned that your kid is 4 years old, did you apply for the study permit?

One of my acquaintances had similar problem back in July 21

I guess study permit is must for kids older than 5 years.

Multiple appointments are available at VAC Chennai. I'd suggest that you book immediately after receiving the biometrics letter from the IRCC and don't cancel irrespective of the circumstances.
I filled my application on 11th and got the biometrics confirmation the same day, got appointment for 15th.

In the Work Permit Tracker there are 2 columns - one is Medical Done and other is Medical passed. Do you get a separate notification that you have passed your medicals and there should be no issue with respect to medical? Thanks!

What is the process for refilling the application under GSS and how much time the process can take?

Hi - how long did it take for you finally for non GSS category, Noc B please? I’ve applied for ICT, LMIA exempt. Bio was done feb 2nd and no updates still.
