Hey guys , has any one here immigrated from the gulf. Need some advise on how to transfer money from saudi to canada before landing there.
Once i leave saudi my visa expires which means my bank accounts close immediately. I thought about travellers cheques but saudi doesnt have that option any more.
I also dont want to do bankers cheques since they take 15 days to clear and should there be any issues, there is no one i can count on for support.
Need your help to understand on transferring the funds from Saudi to Canada.
What is the best way to transfer?
How much maximum we can transfer?
Can we do this transaction even before arriving to Canada e.g. 2-4 weeks before flying?
The easiest way would be to open a Premier account with HSBC, which would allow you to instantly open accounts at HSBC locations internationally. You could then transfer funds between countries easily.
Otherwise, speak to any international bank in KSA about a wire transfer. It shouldn't be an issue.
Finally, if all else fails, bring a bank draft with you in CAD or USD and just deposit it into your TD account.
Hello,
Please advise how to open bank account in Canada before landing? Once we exit the Country (KSA) and transfer funds in Draft then there is no effect even the bank account has been closed in KSA?
appreciate if anyone has experienced similar situation.
I transferred some amount from SNB to TD, its been 9 days and the amount is still not reflecting in TD account.
As per SNB, they have transferred already.
