How to apply for a 2nd study permit while 1st one is still in progress? How to cancel an existing study permit application and start a new one?

I have a placement with Humber College for the Fall 2021 semester and one placement with St Lawrence College for the January 2022 semester. Both placements are for Advertising programs.
I am currently pending for my study permit approval to be given for Humber College but I am not sure if I can receive it on time by the September deadline. Because the Advertising program at Humber only has one intake every year in September, if I do not receive my study permit approval on time, I will have to wait a full year to study that program again.
So I have my St Lawrence placement as a backup plan.
Here are my questions:
1) Am I able to start applying for my St Lawrence college study permit in January 2022, while waiting for my results of my permit application for Humber college in September 2021?
2) If no, how do I stop or pause my study permit application with Humber and make a new application for St Lawrence?
I will very much appreciate the advice anyone can give.
Please HELP ~
You mean I will have to WAIT until IRCC gives me a result of my current permit application before I can start another one?
Is there any webpage that specifically states this?

Just take a look at this forum and IRCC website. You can not withdraw your application that's why you have to wait for the result before start another application. You can try and your second app can be rejected right away or both will be rejected.
That's what IRCC usually do, they only process 1 application from a person.

So if I do receive a SP approval for Humber, can I then apply for a permit for St Lawrence college?
Or I have to withdraw / cancel the permit for Humber before I can start applying for the one at St Lawrence?

I didn't have to do anything else as my first application was already approved. I just put in a fresh application. I got the PPR for my new application today. My previous counterfoil is now invalid.

Theres no point for me asking for IRCC to withdraw my application then, cos it already takes them almost 2 weeks to reply any web forms sent to them.
God knows how long they're gonna take to remove it.
If they somehow drag my approval beyond my course start date, guess I will have to swallow the hard pill and just wait to do it the following year.
Mind if I ask why did you not proceed with your first application?

I had to defer my intake from May to Sept cos it was too late to travel by the time my passport was stamped. I had better offers from beter DLIs for Fall 2021 so I thought it I was waiting till then, I might as well go for gold .

I just got my new PPR today...will send to VFS on Monday. My dependents' permits and visas were issued against my cancelled visa but theirs remain valid. I wonder if the border officers will issue then permits with new dates like mine, or stick with the old dates. I guess we'll find out when I get to the border .
