CIC called my lawyer but it took about six weeks before they admitted their mistake! I submitted my application March 25 2014 and didn't get my approval to sponsor my husband until November! Our file has been in Havana since November 27th.We should be getting a call soon but he should be here already!! I wrote Havana and they said they can't control what happens in Canada!

one question though, we are supposed to go through the lawyer for everything, how come you were able to contact havana yourself?? did you advise the lawyer you were doing that??

No i just emailed havana my husband did not sign the papers for my lawyer to represent him. We should be getting a phone call soon. MY MP is on vacation or i would have her inquire soon!

how come you have an MP If you used a lawyer? in my case everything has gone through the lawyer

Every province has elected Members of Parliament (MP) and they have offices in your area that you can call for information

Google the area you live in ex: who is my MP for ( your area) there should be an name address of MP 's office. Call the office and explain to them why you are calling. Your lawyer's permission is not required unless they have advised you otherwise. You as a citizen have the right to call your MP as you vote them into office and they are supposed to represent you in Parliament.

Nothing here Sept 6th will be 8 months in Havana. Looked at application status on line and the last time ecas was updated was Aug 16th.

I will be at nine months on the 27th of August i am sure we should get a call in a couple of weeks once all the current interviews and visas r issued? I hope

Does anyone know if the process is faster for a married couple that has a child together ? The father lives in cuba and my daughter and I live in Canada.
