What a great forum! Thanks everyone for sharing.
We met in Cuba. We married in Wyoming, USA (she was visiting the US on a study VISA).
I am hoping to have our outland application submitted asap. I have a quick question...
I mail the entire application to Mississauga.
This application must contain her original passport?
A photocopy of my passport.
Medical receipt.
Police Check, original.
And... all the other documents.
Really, I am just surprised that I must mail her original passport in with the application. Any other original ID's from her that we will need? Birth certificate, maybe?
Hey Mr. Keilani, congrats on your love. Hope the Cuba trip was good.
I asked the 'original passport' question because of the Note on page two of the document IMM 3909e:
Family Class
Sponsorship of a
spouse, common-law
partner, conjugal
partner or dependent
child living outside
Canada
Part 3:
Country Specific
Instructions
Note: If you are a Cuban national, you must send originals of all documents, unless otherwise instructed.
These will be returned to you after a decision has been made on your application. If your
documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the
originals.
It still seems strange that I need to leave Cuba with her passport in my bag.
ya i also saw that , i think the original documents they are talking about is her birth certificate , wedding certificate , and police check. From what i remember you only needed a photocopy of his/her passport . I hope someone can post and clarify this before i send my application.
congrats on your love also KanaPolak and thank you
Just a photocopy of the passport is needed. I thought also that it was written that they need the original so I sent it in, they sent it back to me though saying that they do not need the original time. And they just took a photocopy of it. So yeah, don't send the original just the copy
Gratuluje!
