Yha he called the station.. but maybe that's just because it was over the phone.. But Galano's husband got his quick, so I dunno. Maybe January 1st they changed it, lol, just our luck!! We'll find out soon enough.
Does anyone know if you live with your spouse in Cuba if the house has to meet any type of standard ? I know that the spouse needs to show ownership and register at immigration office.

I thought it was fine just going to the immigration office with the proof of house ownership, marriage certificate and they upgrade you to the family visa (no special standards for the house), for 40cuc? (more or less I'm not sure now).

I lived in Cuba with my husband for over a year and we did nothing of the sort. I just needed to show my marriage certificate, my passport, your insurance and pay 40 cuc in sellos. Your husband also needs to bring his carnet to the immigration office so they can have the address you're staying at then they stick a prorroga (elongation) to your visa. You can only stay in Cuba (under those terms) for 2 months though, apparently then you need to exit. That's pretty much it. You have to renew the visa every 30 days.
Note: The 2-month rule is what the Canadian consulate told me in November 2014. I eventually was allowed to stay longer because I was applying to be a permanent resident.
Hey everyone...just wondering how every one is making out? How many people are still waiting? Now 5 months in Havana. Just waiting patiently for our call for interview. From what I am seeing, Havana is being pretty consistent with waiting til the 10 month mark to get in touch. Let's hope they keep this up! Just got back from a week with hubby. Booked another trip in April. Going to Holguin this time instead of Cayo Coco. I hope everyone is good and wish us all a speedy approval!
All seems quiet on the interview/Havana front today. How's your's coming along Galano? Any news yet? Your spouse had his a few weeks back correct? Any updates from Havana?
I'm living I Cuba now at my wife's house. I did nothing with immigration I wouldn't worry about it. And I would say she lives in a below average house. Do what makes you happy. Shouldn't live your life following everything by the book. Better to write your own book but be safe of course!
what did you have to do in order to live in your wife's house. My husband's house does not have an indoor bathroom and he thinks that would be an issue with immigration if I lived there
My wife had her interview. She was told by the woman that interviewed her that she was going to approve the application, but she needed a new police check.
A week later my wife submitted the new police check. Again she was told they are recommending a visa.... BUT... It could take 10 days BUT no more than 15 days to receive her visa.
WTF: First they play with your life for a year or more... then when they finally get to your case... they delay it further...
Waiting was easier before her interview... Now when all the plans I need to make are time sensitive (booking time off work, booking flights....) they are delaying things again...
Nothing worth while is ever easy...
I am very happy, soon me and my wife can start our life together. All I can think about is that day.
I just do not understand the hoops and emotional torture we are put through just to have the people we love with us.
I wish you all the best.
May you and the one(s) you love be able to start your lives together soon.

Umm not sure Where Your husband would get that from? kinda odd. How would Immigration have anything to do with that?? All i did was go to get my visa extented after 3 months for another 3 months. My husband just brought a proof of home ownership from what i remember. Its not like they go there to inspect the home Lol.
