I got an email 10 days before the interview (asked to present proof of ongoing relationship etc).
I'm not sure how one knows if it's a pass, but the interviewer told him that the last step in the process is to get a new police check so that should be a good indicator I guess? I wish they would tell verbally ''Yes you PASSED'' haha.
Thanks
The interview was in the afternoon, it took about an hour, they pretty much asked about our relationship, how we met, plans for the future etc. They also called me during the interview so it was a very good idea to stay by the phone that day!!! Wanted to see if stories coincide..but as long as both spouses go in the same direction, everything is pretty straight forward.
Not really a Cuba question but maybe someone knows the answer. Our friend's wife had her interview a couple weeks ago and was told she needed more proof of their ongoing relationship, he had sent it but it had not arrived, his proof of support and such, the other thing needed was a letter from her child's father saying child could immigrate with the mom, there had been a letter written and signed but it said "visit" not immigrate. What we would like to know is how long will they give her to get that letter from the father before they say it was too late? The issue is the father of her child is in Venezuela right now working and won't be back until sometime in April and this letter has to be written, signed and witnessed by a Cuban attorney so our friend cannot go to Venezuela to get it and take it back to Cuba which he would have done.
Hi all. Does anyone know what the timeframe is to get the police certificate and the contract right now? I believe it was originally 60 pesos (or thereabouts). Basically just want to know how long it is currently taking to get?
Thanks Galano. Havana is a little far for my spouse to make s trip to just for that so he will probably get one more local. Curious though what wait time is in other areas??
My husband called there yesterday, and they said it's a 17 day wait. Maybe if you show up in person they will do it faster... Not sure. We will find out next week and I'll advise.
Yha he called the station.. but maybe that's just because it was over the phone.. But Galano's husband got his quick, so I dunno. Maybe January 1st they changed it, lol, just our luck!! We'll find out soon enough.
Does anyone know if you live with your spouse in Cuba if the house has to meet any type of standard ? I know that the spouse needs to show ownership and register at immigration office.
It's been a roller coaster... getting the visa was just the beginning! It's a big adjustment for everyone. Life in Canada is quite different and takes time to adjust. But over all... it's been worth the wait!
