KJG, my husband has had his driver's licence for a number of years now. I'm aware about the letter, but do you know who needs to write it? Gracias.

lambchop....I believe it is the office equivilent to our Ministry of Transportation....so basically where they go to do their driver's test......as long as it looks formal and has stamps all over it I am sure it will pass...considering there is no way for them to check this info!!!

Touché, KJG. I'll ask the hubster to go look into it.

And thanks again for starting this thread. It's super helpful to be able to pool together our knowledge and share experiences with others who are going through this crazy process.

Thanks lambchop....you are so right....I would never have known about this "baja" thing.....emailed my husband last night about it......it is gonna stress him out but at least at this point it is not holding anything up and we can get it dealt with.

Great news! My husband got the call to go pick up his baja yesterday!!! He drove to Havana last night, picked it up and is now zooming back to Camaguey trying to get there to apply for his PVE before the office closes at 5. I'm so nervous waiting for some exit permission hold-up but really hoping this is finally it!

I'm worried that CIC is slipping back into its old ways of the mess with the Feb/March files :'( I want to join the stage 2 club too, ASAP!

This process is difficult for everyone, but I think it adds an extra layer to it all when communication with your significant other is so difficult and expensive - as is the case when your spouse lives in a country like Cuba. I envy everyone who can call their spouse for next to nothing, Skype, instant message, or even have regular email correspondence.

I know each day brings my husband and I one day closer to finally starting our lives together, but as each day passes we miss each other more and more. We keep trying to focus on how wonderful, relieving and exciting it will be when he finally lands in Canada, but it is really challenging to get through the time apart as a married couple.

...And that's enough of my whining for the day. It's been a tough week, but I am going to buck up and think good thoughts throughout the weekend and hope that CIC emerges from its coma next week with a record number or AORs and approvals for April and May applicants. Go CIC, go!

Yeah it's been a tough week for me as well......computers in Matanzas have been shutting down early because air conditioning is broken and of course my husband works till 4 or 5 so have been getting by on some texts from him but Iknow how expensive that is......I would give anything to be able to skype......and then of course I haven't got a trip booked yet because of work and that is depressing me as well.....so I am thankful that I have an extremely busy weekend which involves lots of alchohol and laughter so that is good...and that is my whine for the day as well!!!! LOL

well off to a latin furor dance party :P :P .....hoping next week is more productive for everyone on this forum and espcially us (tee hee)......
