Hi,
I am trying to schedule a visa appointment in Canada. currently in US and also have Canadian PR. current stamping appointments are way too longer. Is there any way to get a quicker appointment?. I have valid h1 stamping till feb 29th 2024 and the next stamping is also with the same employer.
You will only know after you fill out the questionnaire on ais usvisa site . Don't think you need to pay fee before knowing if it's appointment or dropbox

When you first fill it up, it asks about 7 questions and after you fill it , you will know if it's interview waiver I think. If it doesn't then you don't qualify for dropbox. I know the process has changed a bit when I applied last time. I did dropbo two times . Did you answer the questions - are you resident of Canada, are you in possession of last visa, is the visa renewal in same class. AR eyou citizen of Cuba, Iran. There are few other questions. Those will determine dropbox or not

All it asked was
1. were you previously issued a visa to enter the united states - YES ( entered the issuing post name which was not in canada)
2. Are you traveling from another country to apply for a US visa in Canada - YES (as i need to travel from US)

if you had filled it up long back then it may not show questions. Editing it,may show the questions. But not sure if it's editable if fees are paid. I think it is

ok. If it still doesn't show the questions after saying no to travel. Then I'm not sure. I had a dropbox just a few days back and I received those questions
