Just an FYI you can apply for a health card with AIP in Ontario(not sure about other provinces) they issue you for a year starting from your AIP date. Good luck to everyone still waiting, 25 months in & only AIP and medical request it’s been silent since then. Background etc still in progress.

I talked to them about it, background & criminality in progress, medical & eligibility passed, they advised to wait. I think there’s a delay with Stage 2 for H&C, nothing is moving right now. I wonder if to involve MP

Think most to be prepared for longer processing time than 22 months. Unclear if nothing is moving or things are moving incredibly slowly. The math just doesn’t math so there has to be reforms to this program and the asylum system. If not processing times will easily be close to 5 years.
Redetermination is having a new IRCC staff assess your file. Typically through a JR order. Reconsideration is an informal request if you feel an error was made in the review of your file. For example if IRCC states your income was zero but you actually submitted proof that you earn 100k a year. If you were refused due to the inability to support your family you can ask for reconsideration.

Yes it’s looking like processing will only get longer with the new quotas, I’m already 5 years into this whole thing since I started gathering documents with my lawyer in 2020, the wait is painful.
