dear Louay, I send my full aplication and was reached london office may 5th 2010, i did not include e-mail address I just included regular mail address, i checked my e-status which was changed on may 25th.

Bad News:
Today I received my 2nd AOR from Cairo office dated on May 19/ 2010 with new file Number, The bad news is they said in the latter that processing time is 24 month from receiving full Doc at this office.

Hi, I had heard of this issue for Cairo CHC before. It seems Cairo applicants were going to follow this issue up with Canadian minister of immigration and citizenship. The following thread is their discussions:

To whom who may know it:
'If you have not received any instructions from this office within 12 months, you are requested to contact this office directly.'
What do you think what does this mean? Is it supposed to be the deadline until the next step will be done in the process OR everybody usually gets this statement and still receives feedback within 3-5 months?
I hope that the latter is true.....

Hi,
It means you you should receive some reply from them (e.g. Medical Request, Asking for further documents, or in the worse case rejection) within 12 months.

Keep doing what youre doing to live your life.
Previously people would wait for 3-4-5 yrs to get their PR and now this has come down to 12-24 months. Much much better. isnt it?

The letter I got from Sydney (australia) says to contact them if I have not heard from them in 6 months.

Thank you for your answers. I agree with you Jnathan; one year is much better than 3 or 5 however I still wanted to get some input from other candidates because I might take the potential waiting time into account when I plan ahead. e.g.: I will manage my present duties, finances accordingly.
That's why I really appreciate that you shared your information with me Dasalcedo!!
I think it can be important to all applicants. This is the reason we anyway make this comparisons on dates for ourselves isn't it?!
