i am little concerned of processing time [due to background checks] as my wife is foreigner and child has citizenship of another country[as her mother].i too lived abroad 8-9 yrs.what do you think?will they do confirmation through embassy of that country? i have no idea, how they will do these checks ?......comment pls
Ur case seems somewhat complex (minor) or in other words some what different from the usual cases! But nothing to worry. If the stay is genuine in another country then there would be no problem, I bet.
Yes, they do confirm from all those counties where one have had ever lived. Just read the declaration page(4) given in the Schedule 1 Background/declaration form, IMM008_1e, this is clearly given there. They just investigate it for security purposes. Regarding "what will they do check' I am not much sure, but can guess that the security checks would include thorough investigation about records such as addresses, character, criminal record, relationships , siblings etc etc.
Thanks Doglover for ur reply.
yeah, all my documentation that i submited is true with relevant stays and addresses. i want to ask, as i have PR of that country, will it effect on my canada PR?

You should add your wife in your application to CHC and explain about your marriage in the cover letter
You need a marriage certificate and your spouse birth certificates. In India I know that marriage certificate is issued by registrar of Marriages and the guy sits in the court.
To claim points for your wife education you need to add the transcripts for her post secondary educational qualifications
Also provide reference letters from her employer
