Experience letter is wat we get at the time we leave the organization and reference letter is when your employer recommend you to some company or organization in writing. Both can have same matter like your job duties, span and praise of your work etc. I have experience letters for my past jobs but still I asked them to write reference letter for me. I think it's plus for your immigration requirement. If you are not able to get reference letter you can write cover letter mentioning the reason. You can manage with experience letter as long as it fulfill all requirement of Visa office.
At least a couple of reference letters would do good for you. In case of employers where you couldn't get the reference letters, try to prepare an self-affidavit to that effect and get it notarised and submit. You can mention in that as "I am not able to attach the reference letters for XXXXXXXXXXx company where I worked as XXXXXXXX from XXXXXX to XXXXXXX as the company no longer exists/it is against the policy of the company...."
This should help. But one or two reference letters would be very helpful. Attaching self-affidavit for all the experiences will be a bad sign.

no dear. many applicants who got their 1st AOR before 28 septembers are started getting their 2ND AORS from newdelhi visa office.means july august 1st AOR applicants,, we all are post 28 september 1ST AOR applicants so ours will take time.

Why do they care for 1st AOR date? Don't they process full docs on first-come, first-served basis?
There must be few applications submitted in September and Oct. I don't understand the reason for the delay but I am happy to wait..

yeh! they should be processing by full doc. on first come first served. hop u will get the aor very soon.
