These folks came to Canada to study and they are obligated to return back after the completion of their study program and visa expiry.
Bro cmon. You are sounding like the IRCC officer that gave them the study permit.
How do the officers even keep a straight face while judging study permit applications? Must be hard for them.
"After completion of my course, I will return to my country and start a new business that will put my knowledge to practice in the development of my country."
*Looks at college name*: Lambton College
IRCC Officer: Sure, buddy. I am sure you will.
As i said previously, it's not a one size fits all option like an actual open draw. Already mentioned how difficult it is to get a job offer. The last PNP draw has 1,036 ITAs, that's much fewer than an all program or program specific draw. By your own standards, most FSWs should just give up because they would never be consider high skilled enough for a PNP program even if they were made available to them.
Many of you guys are feeling this level of frustration when you may never have even set foot in Canada before, imagine what their frustration is by living, studying and working here and then having to go back.
I won't deny that, but my point is everyone is getting penalised, the people who are well educated and highly skilled as well included.
No one is saying someone with is a CEC candidate with a lower score than you should be prioritised, i'm just saying that reveling in them having to leave the country is ridiculous. Think about if the shoe was on the other foot.
Look, I've made all these arguments on here as well. What I have learned is that people will feel however way they wanna feel, no matter what you or I say. A lot of people on here are angry and hurting because life and IRCC have dealt them a hard blow. Maybe they are not all assholes when the going is good, I don't know.
I think it's best not to self-appoint as gatekeeper of complete internet strangers' feelings.

Worrying about your future plans not working out is one thing but these imbiciles are on a whole another level of entitlement. They think they are entitled to get the PR after completing some graduation course in Canada.
I think the summary of what he said is "FSW, we will get to you when we get to you".

I'm not, but i can provide a counterpoint to childish and ill-informed sentiments.
People seem more preoccupied with gatekeeping my counterarguments than i am with their stances. I haven't said anyone isn't allowed to say what they think, i'm just calling out toxicity that doesn't achieve anything other that putting more negative energy into the world.
People are frustrated, i get it. But celebrating other people in a similar situation to them having to go home is puerile.
Okay being selfish here. Can someone tell me, what's in store for post aor fsw folks?
Went back to listen to it again,
At 9:20 into the teleconference he says: "To support those who wish to live in Canada, we are also planning on finalizing 147,000 Permanent Residency applications in the first quarter of this year, which will double what we've done during the last year."
https://www.cicnews.com/2021/12/can...ver-47000-immigrants-in-november-1220241.html
24679 + 23395 + 22390 = 70464 Peeps!
So 147K will be actually a bit more of double of what was done last year (70,464 Peeps). He was right on number! I think even ministers in Canada get confused about people or applications while looking at the data.
I think the summary of what he said is "FSW, we will get to you when we get to you".
Right, so 36 months processing still holds. Good to know.
Damn, ain’t this guy a breath of fresh air when compared to the asshole who preceded him. Telling us what we want to hear and hitting all the right notes.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for the kind words. We would love to have a VP such as yourself come to Canada soon.
Regards,
Sean

Need to consider rejection though. That number only shows those who were approved, but rejections also reduces backlog. They could have decided on double that amount and we would not have known.

My guess is they will clear all backlogged appliations in the first quarter of this year which received remed requests post October 2021. The rest will continue to be stuck in the black whole probably for another 2 years.

GandiBaat put this summary here a few hours ago:
54.5 FSW (People)
24.6 CEC
39.5 PNP
120K<147K
Does that mean they can finalize all apps in Q1?

The minister talked about all PR applications, not just the EE backlog.

I don't think the Minister's reference included paper-based applications, though?

No, Ma'am.
Unfortunately, there are folks who are either non EE economic migrants or simply non economic migrants (think spouse and family based immigration) who will also share this processing number with us EE peeps.
