By the way, Alimo, what is your status?

Our passports were received at the embassy in Cairo on Sunday.
It usually takes 5 working days.
Hope we can get them back before the 25th.

Just now i received an email from CIC that my passport is ready to be sent and is asking me to confirm my mailing address by replying to the email.

Anyone had similar experience?

is the mailing address different from the address that the passport was sent to?

I did filled up the recipient address but i think it must have confused the cic staff as i did not put my name, instead i put my friend's name who is the owner of the house in canada where my passport has to be sent to.

You should have addressed it using the phrase "in care of" in this case. But no worries, just give them a green light to send the pp.

Seems not the case as they just replied my email and now they are telling that i did not include the prepaid expresspost lablel in the pacakge. I am 100% sure that it was in the package. Anyway sent the pdf file to them.

They just emailed me that they found the label in my package and that they will be sending out my passport.

To be fair they are so quick in responding my emails today.

that's good. apparently the department that handles the visa stamping is really fast. they work on a saturday too!

I thought they dont work at weekends. Obviously, I was wrong.
Your passport arrived ottawa at 12th Jan too. We, Kerdek and Sac06 are nearly in the same batch then.

Landed at Carway last night and had the worse experience with the Canadian border security.
The US side was okay, they turned me around and denied me visa, even though I had a valid US visa, they explained that the denial was administrative and it would not hinder any US visa application in future as it is not on record, it was just to prove to the Canadian side that I had been to the US.

Got to the Canadian border, showed my documents and I was sent in to meet a female officer. She asked if any information on my COPR was wrong, I said yes my original date of entry, she did not let me finish the statement, she started yelling at me and I quote; "we are not CIC we are CBSA, we don correct CIC errors, they send you people here an expect us to do their jobs, you should have set up an appointment with CIC in Edmonton or Calgary, instead of coming here". She asked for my B4 and I told her I am bringing nothing in, she told me to go to the waiting room, 10mins later she me to sign my COPR, gave me my copy. Said, my PR will be sent to me in 8-10 weeks, but that is CIC's responsibilities not hers. She did not fill out my PR form or ask for my address, neither did she write it on my COPR.

So now I have to go online and apply for a PR card. I will also fill out the right forms and submit to CIC to correct my COPR.
