Guys, just joining the club, I'm 8th of May applicant as well.
Same story of calling CIO and told me my file transferred to Cairo VO late Sep 2014, and nothing since then. Also they told me that as the processing time is 25 months, Cairo VO most probably won't answer any inquires before that!!!!!!

25 months since Sep 2014 means, Oct 2016 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Almohager & Lifexplorer,

To give you an update.
I called CIC on the number provided by Almohager with thanks, and I was informed after a long wait !!!! that my file is currently in Cairo Visa Office. The one who answered the call did not provide any further information about my application and status.

I got the feeling that officers in CIO have no any information about applications after they are being processed coz I was informed that my application is in Cairo only coz I told him it is supposed to be there:).

They even went to tell me that there were some issues in Cairo visa office which have been resolved since more than 2 yrs. However, cairo visa office still shows "currently closed" !!!

I am really discouraged... Know what? I feel like we are such passengers who are stranded at some where and our intended destination is no longer communicating with us and there is no signal to connect us with them . Just a joke.

Would like to know your feelings as well

wish you all the best

Hi Ramo,
I know how you feel exactly man, Hopefully we will hear some good news soon :)
look let me share my experience with you, unfortunately its confusing.
Some CIC agents were not helpful at all but others were helpful so you need to call again and again
one (helpful)agent told me that my file was transferred from CPC-O to Cairo
another (more helpful)agent told me that my file is still in CPC-O but they don't have extra information to share
I even got two emails from CIO in August & September as far as I can remember that dates, first one stating that my file was transferred to CPC-O and 2nd one stating that it was transferred to Cairo(2nd email was a duplicate reply to the same mail)
upon replying to the 2nd one they asked me to direct my inquiries to CPC-O
CPC-O replied to me once long ago stating that they have my file and I should wait
:) confusing I know however lets wait and pray for the best

Thanks Almohager,

Sounds interesting :)

At least you received official communication from CIO advising you the status. I approached both cairo visa office as well as CIO and I am yet to receive any reply.

However, your response helps to give us some relief of the stress we are experiencing these days.

Appreciate it if we could keep in touch until we get the good news.

Best Regards

Yes, those are stressful times... I have received one and only response to an inquiry to CPC-Ottawa informing me that my file is in Cairo Visa Office, which was in December if I recall correctly. That's it, all my other attempts to communicate with CPC-Ottawa or Cairo Visa Office were not successful at all. So, here we are!

I'd like not to believe that we would still have to wait for 25 months of processing time. I don't have any particular reason for that except that it is just better for my sanity. I have two hypotheses, one that we will be remembered when most of the 2014 applicants are processed. Someone, will look at their dashboard and see those few files stuck in Cairo and eventually do something about them, which should happen before the end of the year... Hopefully. Otherwise, compared to someone who was stuck in Cairo back in 2013, she received her medical request a little bit over a year after her PER. That should put us somewhere around August/September this year. I'd like to believe that this should be the case... Yes, I am just optimistic this way :)

I believe that everything happens for a reason. Yes, it might be very tough right now... But, if that will only contribute in our appreciation for what we would get next, that should be enough... Alhamdule'Allah and may God give us patience.

It's good anyway for your/our health to be optimistic & look for the full half of the cup :D. If possible, please give us all the timeline/details for the case that was stuck in cairo office in 2013. How did everything went after that & if they requested more documents. May this make us more optimistic hahahaha.

The time line, as far as I know, for the applicant who was stuck in Cairo VO back in 2013

Received at CIO: February 3, 2013
PER email: March 7, 2013

Update request: March 23, 2014
Medical Request: March 23, 2014
Medical Done: April 28, 2014
Update sent: April 28, 2014
Passport submitted: June 1, 2014
Passport returned: June 30, 2014

So, it took them about a year+ for the Medical/Update request...

Hi LifeXplorer,
I was thinking the same few days ago
-if our files are in CPC-O and for some reason were not processed on time then most probably they will start processing after finishing the queue they have, now they are sending MR to November applicants so maybe withing 1 month we can receive MR.

-if in Cairo there are many scenarios
+they can leave our files till certain point before the end of average processing time mentioned on CIC website then according to the status of Cairo VO they will either process it or send it to CPC-O for processing
+they can send it to CPC-O after CPC-O finish their queue
+they will process it at some point but they are late as they are not fully functioning

its all some guessing and nothing sure
why don't you call CIC to make sure where your file is, tell them that you have no Idea where your file is and what is the status and you didn't receive any acknowledgement from any VO (the response you received is not considered a formal acknowledgement) ? I called them again yesterday and they told me my file is in CPC-O and told me no need to worry and I can start worrying by Aug 2016 :).
if you can, please update your profile with your timeline

Thanks LifeXplorer, this actually goes well with GCMS figures, for me they haven't started processing my file, and there are two "due dates" for doing eligibility assessments, both in July\August 2105 (a yeat from PER).

So if I compare this to the figures below, it seems Cairo VO will start working on our files a year from PER, so we may hear things in Sep 2015.

Just to give you what happened with me and it seems the same for you too, is I called CIC couple of times, the first time, they mentioned my file is in Cairo (which goes with GCMS results), the second time, they told me it is in CPC-O when I asked them about more details, they mentioned well it is in Cairo now!!.

Clearly our files (first two weeks of May 2014 applicants from Cairo) are sent to Cairo VO.

that is not good at all, any good reason for this delay?

so this means GCMS stated clearly that your file is in Cairo VO?

Here what GMCS says:

can this be the visa office you entered in the generic form or is it the one that will process the application?

This is the HISTORY section of the GCMS telling how the file has moved .. so whether this is the VO in generic form (Cairo in my case) or the VO processing my file (don't know which one) it makes no difference in my opinion.
