I have just received an e-mail that my interview will take place this weekend inland
"your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an interview." I believe that my Visa expires in September. Anyways, I am going abroad on Tuesday and I was wondering whether they will be taking my passport? I am afraid I will have to cancel my traveling plans and I would like to know in advance. I tried calling the number on the letter, but these are all automated messages.
Does anyone know if they take your passport? If they do, then for how long? Should I cancel my traveling plans?

Your PR will be finalised at the visa office you attend, they do not keep your passport they issue you your COPR and staple it into your passport. Just remember to keep your copr with your passport for when you return back into Canada after your travels.
