Our application status as is shows in the online portal now is "We are processing your background check", does it mean that application has been transferred to local visa office ? Or does it also means that they have started working on our application at the local visa office ?
Any idea how much time does it for getting the visa after this stage?
You should get a different email about visa office transfer. This is the waiting part unfortunately and many applicants don't hear anything for months at this point but it depends on your VO and case. You can check the 2017 spreadsheet and see many people from the second half of last year as still at this stage, while others have already gotten PR and landed. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...ZbXo73hsxoXaLSJ5-tcm7qnJI/edit#gid=1501489741

Thanks very much, this gives a good idea of the timelines.
Actually my case is different. I had kept my spouse non-accompanying at the time of my visa application when we were already married for more than 2 years, so at that time also I had submitted my wife's medical and PCC. So I presume they might have done some extent of background check for my wife as well ? Which might process her sponsor application faster ?
Hey all! I am a Canadian, and my fiancé is Polish but both living in the UK. We submitted our sponsorship Feb. 9th, received the AOR, and Med. now they requested PCC (Apr13) and he is to get two, one from UK and one from Poland. The UK one is to come April 30, but the Polish one said a month. The CIC said to upload these by May 9. Anyone have any suggestions what we should do?

In your online account where you have to upload the PCC, if you will hover over the help icon, you will see that they have written if you can't get the PCC quickly then upload the receipt of the application and explain why you can't upload it by that date. And you should probably write them e-mail as well.

It’s possible but they also will want to check these things again if it’s been over a year. My common law partner has a similar situation that he just did a working holiday visa in Canada and had to submit his criminal rehab and police checks and everything so we were hoping he might get through sooner as well since he was just living in Canada not that long ago but you never know. It could actually work in reverse for us that they want to double check he isn’t just trying to use me for a visa haha.

You are already ahead of most people. Most people whose apps were recieved in Mid February only just had their Med requests. You're the first in Late February that i've seen had their medical requested.
I would call the immigration agent to ask what you should do. Normally the results get transferred from the hospital not you, but am not so sure. Call them and let us know so we will have an idea what to do
Your application was received same day as mine, but I did not receive my SA yet, I was only asked for medical not submitted yet, But the call center agent told me he could see that I was approved in the system
Hi Guys!
Can somebody put me in the sheet. I applied for my wife whose in Pakistan. Details are as follows.

Medical Request: Mar 28
Imm 5669 & PCC Request: Mar 28
Email stating Me being accepted as sponsor: Apr 3rd
Medical Passed : Apr 16
